Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of acute care experience and active CA state licensure for a variable day shift assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a hospital-based nuclear medicine unit
  • Day shifts, 5x8 hours, variable schedule Monday through Saturday with start times between 12:00pm and 8:30pm
  • Flexible scheduling is required
  • No blocked or self-scheduling available
  • Work involves research PET scans using investigational ligands
  • CERNER and EPIC charting systems are used; experience required with Cerner and preferred with Epic
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Position does not require CT certification
  • Responsibilities include administering nuclear medicine procedures and research PET scans
  • Modules are billable for the initial orientation; any subsequent modules are non-billable
  • Return staff policy: must be gone a full year to be eligible as a traveler again
  • Manager may interview at their discretion; candidate must be comfortable without a formal interview
  • Candidates must submit all RTO requests upfront; changes are not permitted post submission
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year nuclear medicine tech experience in an acute care setting within the last 2 years
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Valid CA state license in-hand at time of applying (license required if applicable)
  • ARRT(N), CNMT, and NMTCB certifications required
  • ARRT(R) certification and PET experience preferred
  • Must pass a EKG exam in up to 3 attempts
  • Two supervisory references required for consideration
  • Modules must be completed pre-start and annually
  • No RTO allowed in the first two weeks; maximum 7 days RTO per 13 week contract preferred
