Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist with active CCC-SLP and BLS certifications for an acute care assignment managing inpatient and outpatient dysphagia and cognitive cases.

Responsibilities
  • Assignment is located in an acute care setting with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
  • Covers Speech Rehab unit, treating patients with dysphagia, cognitive impairment, and aphasia
  • Typical caseload is 8-10 patients per day
  • Work schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 8-hour day shifts
  • Potential for one weekend day per month
  • Cerner is used for electronic medical records and charting
  • Must complete pre-assignment modules prior to start; modules take 3-4 hours and are not compensated time
  • Department-specific orientation is provided
  • Burgundy polo and black scrub bottoms are required attire
  • Holiday coverage includes working 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year); holiday time-off requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted state license required; license required if applicable
  • Current CCC-SLP and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience managing patients with dysphagia
  • Experience in both acute inpatient and outpatient settings required
  • 2 professional references are required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and another from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
