Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years acute care experience and current CCC-SLP for a 13-week assignment covering both inpatient and outpatient care.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an acute care setting providing speech therapy in both inpatient and outpatient environments
  • Primarily serves patients with dysphagia, cognitive, and aphasia diagnoses
  • Typical caseload is 8–10 patients per day
  • Utilizes Cerner for electronic documentation
  • 8-hour day shifts, Tuesday through Saturday schedule
  • Potential requirement to work one weekend day per month
  • Must complete online modules prior to start; modules average 3–4 hours and are unpaid
  • Will be expected to perform both cognitive and swallowing evaluations and treatments for acute and outpatient populations
  • Must be willing to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); holiday time off requests considered but not guaranteed
  • Department-specific orientation is provided
  • Dress code requires a burgundy polo top with black scrub bottoms
Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted state or compact (NLC) SLP license required if applicable
  • Current BLS and CCC-SLP certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, including acute care managing dysphagia
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
  • Must submit a copy of driver’s license for consideration
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
