Position Overview
Centinela Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Telemetry / Med-Surg Registered Nurse to join our team on a per diem, night shift assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment providing high-quality patient care in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients on the Telemetry/Med-Surg units.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health management.
Requirements
- Active California RN License (unrestricted, current).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry / Med-Surg experience.
- Certifications required:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Shift: Nights, 19:30 – 07:00
- Assignment Type: Per Diem Only
- Contract Length: 09/29/2025 – 03/29/2026
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, discussed during interview (commensurate with experience).
