Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist with at least 2 years of inpatient acute rehab experience and current CA SLP license.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an inpatient rehabilitation unit within an acute hospital setting
  • Primary schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, with potential flexibility for Monday to Friday plus two Saturdays per month
  • Day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Patient care focuses on cognitive, speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Epic charting experience is preferred
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for a variety of communication and swallowing disorders
  • Complete comprehensive patient evaluations and update Plans of Care according to standards of practice
  • Assume clinical supervision duties for assistants, aides, and serve as clinical instructor for students
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Only one holiday request for time off will be approved during assignment
  • Must comply with department, organizational, and regulatory guidelines for privacy and safety
  • Return staff must have a break in service of one year before returning as a traveler
  • Role includes completion of non-billable online modules during orientation
  • 50 mile radius rule applies for eligibility
  • Local candidates are accepted at a local pay rate
Requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited speech pathology program
  • Current and valid CA SLP license required if applicable
  • Current SLP-CCC certification
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • At least 2 years of recent inpatient acute rehab experience required
  • Ability to obtain lab work within 3-5 days of signing contract
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
