Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital setting working 10-hour day shifts with BLS certification and California licensure required.

Responsibilities
  • Position is in an acute care hospital on a multidisciplinary rehab unit including PT, OT, and Speech
  • Primary patient populations include cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, ICU, neuro, and med-surg; occasional low volume pediatrics but no NICU or pediatrics experience required
  • Work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, 7:00am-5:30pm, with every third weekend required and possible rotation to every other weekend
  • No floating required
  • Uses Cerner EMR; prior experience with Cerner is preferred
  • Team support includes a manager available Monday through Friday and PT aides scheduled daily
  • Orientation includes 8 hours of unit-specific training for all modalities
  • Main responsibilities include evaluating and treating a diverse caseload of adult patients in an acute rehab setting
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary rehab team with leadership and aide support
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Required to participate in holiday staffing rotations with permanent staff for all modalities
  • Dress code includes a burgundy polo or long sleeve button-down shirt provided by the hospital and dark solid pants; scrubs are not permitted
  • Candidates may not have worked for any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year in a direct employment role
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience with at least 1 year in an acute care hospital setting
  • Active California PT license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor within the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
