American Traveler is hiring an experienced Orthopedic RN for a night shift position on a 38-bed med/surg ortho unit requiring an active IL RN license.

• Position is in a med/surg orthopedic unit of an acute care Level I trauma, Magnet hospital
• 38-bed unit caring for orthopedic and general med/surg patients
• Night shifts available with either four 12-hour or three 12-hour shifts per week (1845-0645)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within Med/Surg departments and to affiliate hospitals is required
• Cerner is used for charting and EMR
• Responsible for caring for ortho and med/surg patients including IV and PICC management
• Team-oriented environment supporting first-time travelers
• Scrubs in any solid color are permitted
• No cost for parking; permit required and provided during orientation
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed without special approval
• Modules and mandatory training are completed virtually on the first day
• COVID and flu vaccination or declination required per hospital policy
• Locals accepted

• Active Illinois RN license in hand required at time of application
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required; 18 months preferred depending on unit policy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line management experience required
• Telemetry and Cerner experience preferred
• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
• Candidates who were perm or PRN employees must have been separated for at least 12 months prior to applying
