Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for an acute care assignment requiring BLS and Illinois SLP licensure, with EPIC charting experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an acute care hospital setting
  • Day shift Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Assignments primarily within the NICU
  • Full-time hours, 40 hours per week
  • EPIC EMR system is used and experience is required
  • No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Evaluate and treat patients of all ages across diverse case backgrounds
  • Conduct assessment, develop treatment plans, and implement speech and language interventions
  • Collaborate closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Provide education and training to patients and families regarding care plans
  • Modify intervention approach based on patient progress and feedback
  • Use standardized outcome measures and appropriate instrumentation in interventions
  • Complete documentation according to regulatory and organizational standards
  • No travel partners accepted for this assignment
  • Must not exceed 7 days of requested time off per 13 week contract
  • RTO must be requested prior to submission
  • Contract limited to one calendar year, requiring a 30-60 day break before potential reassignment
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
  • Current BLS certification
  • Active Illinois SLP license required, if applicable
  • Experience with EPIC charting required
  • One year of relevant SLP experience in an acute care setting
