Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Level 1 Trauma setting with EPIC proficiency and Illinois RN license required.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
- Provides care to inpatient obstetric patients including monitoring fetal wellbeing and supporting labor, delivery, and surgical delivery
- Schedule is 12-hour day shifts from 7:00AM to 7:30PM, three days per week
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Uses EPIC for electronic medical records
- Duties include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care specific to obstetric patients
- Responsible for medication administration, patient education, and supporting both vaginal and surgical births
- Must maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation for use by the healthcare team
- RTO (Requested Time Off) is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract
- Assignment may not continue longer than 1 year without a 6-month break before returning
- Scrub color or dress code requirements will be communicated during onboarding
- No travel partners accepted
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Minimum one year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting is required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (American Heart Association)
- Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
