Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position in Illinois requiring Level 1 Trauma and EPIC charting experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Care for patients in a Level 1 Trauma environment
- Schedule includes day shifts from 10:00AM to 10:30PM with a required 2-week night rotation for all travelers
- Two 13-hour on-call shifts required per six-week schedule period, with onsite response within one hour
- Uses EPIC EMR system, prior experience required
- Responsible for performing assessments, developing care plans, and implementing emergency nursing interventions
- Expected to maintain accurate documentation and ensure integration of patient information for healthcare team use
- Duties include modifying plans of care based on ongoing assessments and collaborating closely with providers, patients, and families
- Expected to support a safe work environment and provide peer feedback for professional development
- Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract
- Travel partners are not accepted for placement
- Contingent workers may not be continuously assigned to the facility for more than one year and must observe a 6-month break before returning
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp licenses accepted)
- Minimum one year of relevant emergency nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; locals not accepted
