Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,320 per week

Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Role: Stepdown RN
Location: CommonSpirit facility (50-mile radius rule applies – cannot work if affiliated with CHI/Dignity within the past year)
Shift: 12-hour Nights (1830–0700)
Schedule: Cyclic scheduling, every other weekend, 1 major & 1 minor holiday.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Orientation: 1 x 12-hour shift + open-book skills exam (must score 90% to pass, otherwise terminated).

Unit Details:

• Beds: 22
• Ratios: 1:4 RN-to-patient, 1:10 CNA
• Patient Types: Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke
• Drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro (titration required)
• Charge Nurse: Yes, with full assignment
• Support Staff: Nurse aides present
• Equipment: CPAP (RNs troubleshoot); RNs read & interpret tele strips (no monitor techs)
• Floating: To ICU if qualified/experienced
• Environment: Fast-paced, frequent admissions/discharges, teamwork-oriented.

Requirements:

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• License: Active RN license, BSN required

• Experience: Stepdown/ICU background preferred for float

Charting: EPIC
Trauma Level: III
Care Setting: Acute
