Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation with at least 2 years of experience and a BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an inpatient rehab unit
- Day shift schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, five 8-hour shifts per week
- Average patient ratio is 1:14
- Requires 8 weekend shifts during the contract
- Exposure to trauma, stroke, and ICU cases preferred
- May be assigned to an emergency team for hurricane coverage, which may require remaining on-site during storms
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility
- Must be comfortable with potential reassignment or emergency team duties during hurricane season
- Five-day orientation provided upon start
- Must have been separated from this health system for at least one year if previously employed as permanent staff or in-house contractor
- Requests for time off must be discussed during the interview process
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient rehab physical therapy experience required
- LA state PT license or compact state license required if applicable
- All certifications must be from the American Heart Association
- Open to first-time travelers
