Shift Details

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will have extensive critical care experience, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to manage complex cardiac cases.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with cardiac conditions.
  • Monitor and manage cardiac functions and support devices, including Impella, IABP, and LVADs.
  • Administer medications including inotropes, vasopressors, insulin, and analgesics.
  • Perform invasive procedures such as arterial line management and central line care.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention, patient safety, and comfort.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and social services.
  • Assist in procedures like bronchoscopy, intubation, and targeted temperature management.
  • Educate patients and families regarding cardiac conditions and treatment plans.
Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Maryland or Compact License.
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI.
  • 2+ years of critical care experience preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
  • Charge experience and familiarity with trauma protocols are preferred.
  • Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1-3.
Additional Information
  • Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday required (one holiday off per contract).
  • Occasional floating between units may be required.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Daily Census: Approximately 10 patients.
  • Unit Bed Count: 15 beds.
  • Common Patient Diagnoses: Cardiogenic Shock, Cardiac Arrest, Heart Failure, and more.
