American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with psychiatric experience to provide occupational therapy services to adult inpatients in a behavioral health setting.
Responsibilities- Work in an inpatient psychiatric unit serving patients aged 18 and older
- Day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Role focuses on assessment and treatment of psychiatric patients
- Non-invasive procedures only
- Provide medically prescribed occupational therapy services for adult psychiatric inpatients
- Work involves exchange of work-related information with internal and external contacts
- High level of professionalism is required when interacting with patients and staff
- Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this contract
- No invasive procedures involved in therapy
- Position may require sharing work-related information with both internal team members and external contacts
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Completion of two supervised clinical internships totaling at least six months
- Passed the American Occupational Therapy Certification Exam
- Permanent or temporary Occupational Therapist license from the State of Maryland required if applicable
- Current CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Minimum two years psychiatric occupational therapy experience preferred
- Experience in facilities with 500+ beds preferred
