Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring an active MD or Compact RN license, BLS, STABLE, and NRP certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:30 to 08:00
- Patient ratio is 1:3
- Every other weekend shifts are required
- Floating within the specialty and hospital is required, with travelers prioritized to float
- No on-call requirements
- Self-scheduling is available but block scheduling or restrictions cannot be requested
- Must be able to float within hospital according to experience scope, with no restrictions or special requests
- An 18-week contract is required, with assignments continuing into January and the earliest end date being January 10
- Travelers may request one of the three major holidays off during the winter assignment
- Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
- Return travelers must have been away from the health system for at least 6 months; former staff must be gone for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Most locations allow one contract and one extension before requiring a 6-month break
- Online CPI certification may be required for compliance
- RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of submission and cannot be changed later
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS, STABLE, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Two satisfactory professional references from recent employers, including one supervisor/manager and one charge RN
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
