Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in a leadership role. This is a full-time, night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a commitment to patient care excellence and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities Assessment

• Compiles patient database and formulates nursing diagnoses.
• Utilizes physical assessment and interviewing techniques effectively.
• Anticipates the need for interventions by other disciplines.
• Determines priorities for patient care needs and reassesses based on changing conditions.

Planning

• Initiates and updates written nursing plans of care incorporating scientific and psychosocial principles.
• Coordinates planning of care among patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Implementation

• Performs clinical nursing skills independently.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments accurately.
• Initiates appropriate emergency procedures as necessary.
• Delegates and coordinates duties of ancillary personnel.
• Documents patient status and plan of care in the medical record.
• Communicates effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Employs teaching/learning principles in patient and family education.

Patient Care Coordination

• Manages daily patient assignments and sets appropriate priorities.
• Monitors nursing care delivered by ancillary personnel and coordinates patient activities with other disciplines.

Teaching and Quality Improvement

• Implements and documents Patient Teaching and Discharge Planning Records.
• Participates in educational programs for patients, families, staff, and students.
• Identifies and addresses unit, staff, and patient care problems.

Professional Excellence Model

• Participates in activities of an RN 3, excluding facilitation of the Nurse Residency Program.
• If competent, serve as a charge RN to monitor productivity and patient flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a leadership capacity.
• Must possess certifications including BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), AFM, NRP, and NIHSS.
• Current RN License in Maryland.
• COVID vaccine status required for compliance.

Work Schedule

Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend schedule to be determined by the facility.
