Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a MA RN license and strong independent telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Medical ICU at a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- 17-bed unit with an average patient ratio of 1:2
- Patient population includes respiratory failure, renal disease, ETOH withdrawal, sepsis, cardiac and respiratory arrest, and GI bleeds
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- Care for adult intensive care patients
- Telemetry rhythm strip interpretation required
- CRRT, radial artery sticks, and IV procedures commonly performed
- Responsibilities include performing blood draws, IV placement, and management of critically ill adults
- Additional preferred experience includes CCRN certification and expertise with CRRT and radial artery sticks
- All RNs must pass an advanced dysrhythmia test for consideration
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Monthly parking fees may apply
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required at time of application
- Current certifications required as specified in job details (BLS, ACLS, etc.)
- Minimum 2 years recent MICU/ICU experience required
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Level 1 Trauma hospital experience required
- Must pass facility's Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test on day 1
- Two professional references required, including one from a manager within the past 12 months
