Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring a MA RN license and recent Level I or II ED experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in an Adult Emergency Department within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes adults, with possible floating to Psych ED and Pediatric ED for patients age 15+ unless prior pediatric experience is demonstrated
  • Work a 12-hour rotating night shift schedule that includes 7:00pm-7:30am, 11:00pm-11:30am, or 3:00am-3:30pm
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required
  • Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5 depending on patient acuity
  • Travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms
  • Role involves working in a high-volume ED with up to 120 treatment areas, serving 350-440 patients per day
  • Flexibility to float to Psych ED and Pedi ED as needed by the unit
  • Must complete and pass Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia testing prior to starting; test can be attempted twice
  • Monthly parking fees apply
  • First-time travelers are considered
  • Holiday coverage is required for assigned holidays
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates (except for Sterile Processing Unit)

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, all active and unexpired
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience, or 2+ years of recent Level 3/4 ED experience
  • Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks
  • Must pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 with a score of 85% or higher
  • Level I trauma hospital experience required
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Two professional references required, including one from a manager with a performance evaluation and one within the last 12 months
