**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a 6-bed medical ICU located in Clifton Springs, NY. This position is ideal for an experienced critical care nurse looking to apply their expertise in providing high-quality care to a diverse range of critically ill patients in a rural healthcare setting.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Provide direct patient care in a medical ICU, including the management of patients on ventilators, with arterial lines, and those requiring titrated medications.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Monitor, assess, and document patients’ conditions using Epic charting system.
- Participate in the education of patients and their families about care plans, treatment options, and health maintenance.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.

**Qualifications:**

- Must hold a valid New York State RN license (in hand) at the time of submission.
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care or ICU nursing experience required, with previous charge experience preferred.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required.
- Proven skills in managing critically ill patients, including those on high-flow oxygen, continuous sedation, and neuro/respiratory support.
- Competence in using Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage patient ratios (3:1 during day/night shifts).
- Flexibility to float as needed and work every other weekend.

**Unit Information:**

The ICU specializes in providing care for a variety of critically ill patients, including those requiring vasopressors, insulin drips, BiPAP support, and long-term mechanical ventilation. The environment is supportive of staff development, aiming to maintain high standards of clinical practice.
