Job Description
LocationHornell, NY
Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule / Shift- 3 shifts per week
- 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekend rotation - every other weekend
The position involves providing direct and indirect patient care in a healthcare setting. The RN will be expected to communicate effectively with all team members regarding changes in a patient's clinical condition and updates in care. Quick and accurate responses to changes in patients' conditions are essential, and general nursing duties may be performed in all assigned departments under adequate supervision.
Responsibilities- Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Assess and reassess patient pain and utilize appropriate pain management techniques.
- Revise and evaluate the plan of care based on the patient's response to treatment.
- Perform waived testing and interpret results, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their administration based on patient age and condition.
- Formulate and evaluate teaching plans based on identified learning needs.
- Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical skills.
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Maintain effective communication with the Nurse Manager, Charge nurse, coworkers, and physicians.
- Ensure documentation meets the current standards and policies.
- Operate equipment safely and correctly.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current NYS Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
