Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN serves as an advocate in the care of individuals and families, ensuring compliance with professional standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Utilize pharmacological knowledge to safely administer medications.
- Participate in resource utilization including staffing and time management.
- Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current NYS RN License.
- BLS Certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross.
- Minimum of six months to three years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
- Chemo administration experience with ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification is required.
