Job Description: Night Shift PCU/IMC Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Mixed Acuity Unit, focusing on Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical Surgical Telemetry patients. This role requires specific experience in PCU/IMC within the last three years, with adjusted patient ratios based on acuity levels.

• Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
• Location: City, State
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends; 1:3-6 for nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May be floated to corresponding sister units

As a Registered Nurse in this position, you will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality care to PCU and Medical Surgical Telemetry patients, both pre and post-surgery.
• Utilizing a variety of clinical skills and protocols including dysrhythmia management and IV insulin protocols.
• Caring for patients with diverse medical diagnoses, including but not limited to trauma, orthopedic surgery, and general surgery.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and communication using EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR.

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (PALS preferred)
• Skills: Proficiency in telemetry, medication administration, and management of various medical devices and patient conditions.

• Previous charge nurse experience
• Experience in Trauma Level II facilities
• Experience with TCAR and other surgical protocols

The orientation period for this role consists of a comprehensive 12-hour training program to ensure a smooth transition into our facility’s practices and protocols.
