American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN with a current NY license and strong telemetry skills for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a tertiary care hospital
- Primary patient population includes CHF, acute MI, post device care (such as pacemakers), and patients with arrhythmias
- Typical patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:7
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Floating to other units is required
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
- Scrub attire must be any combination of navy and white
- Care responsibilities include rapid response and code team engagement, as well as isolation precautions
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as part of unit scheduling
- Selection preference may be given to candidates with prior Epic experience
- Active NY RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Competency in cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Proficient in Epic charting
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management
