The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. They promote patient independence and safety by educating patients and families on disease processes, medications, and self-care skills while adhering to healthcare standards and protocols. The nurse is responsible for maintaining a safe environment, operating medical equipment, and ensuring infection control in accordance with organizational values and regulations.
The Registered Nurse promotes and restores patient's health by completing the nursing process: collaborating with Physicians and multidisciplinary team members: providing support to patients, visitors and families. Responsible for assessing, planning, promoting and evaluating quality patient care. A Registered Nurse provides teaching to patients, families and the public. A Registered Nurses will follow the mission, vision, I-CARE values, policies and procedures of Mohawk Valley Health System.
