CVICU Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

We are seeking a dedicated CVICU Nurse for our high-acuity unit. This 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on patient acuity, with holdover downgraded patients potentially at a 1:3 ratio. Our team is equipped to handle approximately 850 heart surgeries per year, providing exceptional cardiac care.

• Provide critical care to post-operative cardiac patients.
• Perform procedures including IABP, Impella, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Manage patient care by regular ambulation and chest tube removal.
• Assist with intubation and extubation as needed.
• Collaborate with a highly trained team, including an ECMO team nurse.

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience.
• A passion for surgical heart care and the ability to work in a high-energy environment.
• Preferred certifications in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room Care.
