Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trauma care and emergency nursing, with a teamwork mentality and exceptional patient experience focus.
Unit Information- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
- Unit Staffing: Techs available, work in cardiac monitoring and triage, Unit clerks on days and nights
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling commitment
- Schedule must align with department needs
No floating outside of the ED; must be open to floating to all sections within the ED.
Patient Experience RequirementsMust adhere to AIDET principles, maintain respectful behavior, and ensure patients are updated throughout their visit.
Certifications Required- ACLS (before starting)
- BLS (before starting)
- PALS (before starting)
- TNCC (before starting)
- CPI (before starting)
- NIHSS (before starting)
- ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
- 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center
- Experience in a comprehensive stroke center and high-volume ED (100,000+ visits/year)
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an ER setting
- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
Required uniform: Navy scrubs
