Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a 28-bed PCU/Telemetry hybrid unit. This position requires excellent clinical skills and the ability to provide high-quality care during night shifts. As a Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Shift Details
  • Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 nights, rotating weekends.
  • On-call: Candidate may be placed on-call with report-in time within 1 hour of being called back.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients in the Telemetry unit using advanced telemetry equipment.
  • Implement care plans, administer medications, and record patient information accurately.
  • Assist in emergency situations as part of a rapid response team.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes and care plans.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Telemetry and Intermediate Care nursing required.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
  • Skills: Proficient in cardiac telemetry, arterial line management, and IV administration; experience with Epic electronic medical records is a must.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 during days, 1:5-6 on nights.
  • Additional Experiences: Experience handling CPAP/BiPAP and administering antiarrhythmics and vasoactive drips is preferred.
  • Education: Valid nursing degree (Associates or Bachelor’s) required.

The unit specializes in managing patients with cardiovascular and medical/surgical needs including heart failure, chest pain rule outs, and post-cardiac procedures. A strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration with respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and pharmacy teams enhances patient care delivery.
