Job Description: Med-Surg Registered Nurse

Shift Information

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Med-Surg Registered Nurse to join our team. This position entails caring for post-surgical patients, with a particular emphasis on orthopedic cases. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing and relevant experience in post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to post-surgical patients, focusing on orthopedic recovery.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Position Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Strong background in Med-Surg nursing.
• Experience with post-surgical patients, especially orthopedic cases, is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a nursing team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Orientation and Training

Orientation sessions are held twice monthly to prepare new hires for success in their roles.

• 355 beds
• Frye Regional Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center
• Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 NICU
• 32 bed Emergency Department and a 29 bed inpatient rehab unit
• 15 bed surgical suite and imaging capabilities
• 81 bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital
