Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit. This position requires strong Cerner experience and IV competency, along with a commitment to patient advocacy in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Information- Shift: 19:00 - 07:00
- Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 36
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
Located in a vibrant city and state, the facility comprises:
- 355 beds
- 32 bed Emergency Department (ED)
- 29 bed inpatient rehab
- 15 bed surgical suite & imaging
- 81 bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital
- Department/Cost Center: 6029
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, PCA pumps
- EHR: Cerner
The unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patients with various medical conditions, including:
- COPD exacerbation
- GI bleed
- Diabetic complications
- Wound care
- Pancreatitis
- Sickle cell crisis
- End of life care/hospice
- Falls
- Weakness
- Sepsis
- Infection
- Must have a valid NC or compact nursing license
- Must have Basic Life Support certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting
- Cerner experience is required
- IV competency is essential
- Charge experience is preferred
Candidates must possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
