Overview

This position is for a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) working in a 22-bed unit that provides care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility is located in Wilson, NC, approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret EKGs with critical thinking skills.
• Manage patient discharges and admissions.
• Administer basic cardiac drips and other prescribed treatments.
• Provide care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, CP, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post-cardiac catheterization.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team ensuring optimal patient care.
• Adhere to patient safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.

Unit Information

Unit: Telemetry

• Patient Ratio: 5:1 or 6:1
• Equipment: Welch Allyn Vital Signs machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, Baxter IV pumps.
• EHR: Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Education: Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in a telemetry or similar setting.
• Ability to float to Med/Surg Overflow if required.
• Must be team-oriented and flexible.

Schedule

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours

• Weekend Hours: 12 hours (every other or every third weekend)
• No call requirements.
