Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of IR/Neuro IR experience in a Level 1 trauma setting and ARRT-R or RCIS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a large academic medical center with a Level 1 Trauma Designation
- Interventional Radiology department with 10 dedicated procedure rooms
- Average caseload of 46-50 patients per day
- Patient population includes stroke, cancer, tumors, complex bleeds, peripheral vascular disease, and complex neuro cases
- Procedures include stroke interventions, neurovascular and body IR procedures, and oncology interventions
- Uses Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems, and GE ultrasound units
- Epic Encompass EMR used in the department
- Schedule may include 4x10, 5x8, or 3x12 hour shifts, with rotating start times around 8:00 AM
- On-call required one day per week from 4:00 PM until cases are complete
- Weekend rotation is every 7th or 8th weekend, Friday 4:00 PM through Monday morning
- No floating required
- Position involves scrubbing and assisting in IR procedures as part of a two-tech team per case
- Caseload includes a wide range of neuro and body IR interventions with support from tech extenders, neuro providers, and body IR physicians
- Orientation in the department provided for up to two weeks based on candidate experience
- Must be comfortable working with and supporting new graduates and participating in preceptorship as needed
- Hospital-provided scrubs are required
- Free parking available on site
- Must be willing to cover approximately 75% of scheduled holidays if assigned
- First-time travelers will be considered
Requirements
- Current BLS and ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR in a Level 1 Trauma center
- Skills in scrubbing, assisting in procedures, circulating, and equipment operation are required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred
- License required if applicable
