Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR and neuro scrub experience, BLS, and ARRT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an inpatient hospital interventional radiology unit
  • Majority adult and geriatric patient population with some adolescents
  • Daily caseload averages 13-17 cases
  • Procedures include vascular, neuro (including stroke), body work, stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephograms, kyphoplasty, biopsies, drainages, peripheral, genitourinary, venous access, and neurological studies
  • Uses Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment; Acuson experience preferred
  • PACS and contrast required for imaging
  • Epic and Visage charting systems preferred
  • First shift, staggered start between 7:00-8:30 AM, 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday
  • Weekend and evening/night on-call rotation
  • No floating required for this role
  • Responsibilities include completing a wide range of IR procedures, including complex neuro and vascular studies
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Hospital orientation is required during the first week, with schedule finalized prior to start
  • Candidates must be available Monday through Friday during orientation week without outside commitments
  • No RTO allowed during the first week; RTO of up to 7 days permitted if not on holidays, and 2 out of 3 major holidays must be worked
  • Candidates who previously worked at this health system must have a 12-month gap before returning as a traveler and rehire approval is required
  • Familiarity with on-call responsibilities (primary and backup) required
  • Fatigue policies limit work to no more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week
  • Scrub attire is provided for all shifts

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in interventional radiology with scrub experience (neuro procedures required)
  • BLS and ARRT certification required
  • ARRT Advanced certification preferred
  • Experience with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required
  • PACS and contrast administration experience required
  • EMR/charting experience with Epic and Visage preferred
  • IR procedures and neuro stroke intervention skills required
  • Outpatient, OR, ER, or Level I trauma and ablation experience preferred
  • Inpatient hospital experience required
  • Traveler experience required; does not accept first time travelers
  • References required for consideration
  • License required if applicable
