Position Details
Role: RN – LDRP (Float)
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45p–7:15a)
- Schedule: Nights + call; every 3rd weekend; every other holiday; floating required (Medsurg & ER within skillset)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Scrubs: Maroon – hospital-provided surgical scrubs worn on unit
Unit & Facility Details
- Department: LDRP – Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (Float role)
- Beds: 15 total (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum)
- OR Suites for C-sections: 1
- Average Deliveries: ~58/month
- Ratios (per AWHONN):
- 1:1 for Pitocin, magnesium, insulin drips
- 1:3 couplet care
- Support Staff: CNAs (assist with vitals, transfers, paperwork, ambulation, etc.)
- Charge Nurse: Yes, also takes patients
- OB/Neo coverage: No 24/7 in-house OB/Neonatologist; no 24/7 anesthesia
- RT/Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow O2; RNs troubleshoot only
- EMR: Meditech
- EFM System: TraceView/PIP
- Telemetry: Philips monitors; RNs read their own strips
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring (NRP, ACLS, STABLE preferred)
- Experience:
- Must read/interpret fetal strips
- Able to titrate Pitocin, insulin, magnesium
- Strong critical thinking & adaptability
- Prior travel experience required
- Floating: Yes – L&D float plus MedSurg & ER as needed
- Orientation: 3 shifts
Additional Notes
- Radius Rule: Must live >50 miles away.
- RTO: Must be declared upfront; no additional RTO approved post-submission.
- Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday required.
