**Job Description:**
We are currently seeking an experienced PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This position will focus on delivering exceptional patient care in a busy PreOperative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in PACU nursing, demonstrate excellent clinical skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort during the preoperative and postoperative phases.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and physical exams, to determine appropriate care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and manage patient pain levels effectively, adjusting care as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and patient needs.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about postoperative care instructions and recovery expectations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 18 months recent nursing experience in the PACU setting is required.
- Current and valid RN license in Ohio or a Compact State is necessary.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to be on-call for nights and weekends as required.
- Must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation.
**Shift Details:**
- Shift Type: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
- Call Required: Yes (Nights + Weekend)
**Additional Information:**
- Candidates will need to provide a reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for.
- All required clinical modules must be completed prior to starting, with the flexibility of completing onboarding essentials at your convenience.
