American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a secure corrections oncology unit requiring experience with Epic and BLS certification.

• Work in a corrections-based Oncology MS/Telemetry unit caring for patients who are ODRC inmates
• Float to various oncology-focused medical-surgical units as needed
• Patient population includes individuals with active oncology diagnoses, general med/surg conditions, and post-surgical needs
• Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3 for PCU assignments and 1:4-5 for MS assignments
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) with weekend shifts assigned based on unit needs
• Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing
• Some shifts assigned to PCU and others to MS
• Provide nursing care including telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, feeding tube, tracheostomy, and PCA management
• Manage endocrine/metabolic, renal, cardiac, respiratory and gastrointestinal cases as outlined by protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, respiratory services, and rapid response
• Unit is secured with access controlled by Corrections Officers; CO to inmate ratio is 1:2
• Orientation provided to corrections-based oncology environment
• All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted and built into contract
• Former employees eligible only after a 6 month break from facility employment
• Current Ohio State University hospital employees are not eligible as travelers
• Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
• Strict fingerprinting requirements must be completed promptly upon contract signing

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience with Epic documentation system required
• Medical-surgical/telemetry skills required; oncology experience preferred but not required
• Minimum education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
• Must provide two professional references, with at least one from a manager or formal leadership role
