Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Ohio, requiring an OH or compact RN license, BLS, and a minimum of three years of Med/Surg experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift with 3x12 hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:30
- Patient ratio is typically 1:3
- Required to work weekdays, some weekends, and rotating holidays
- Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the organization is required
- Uses Epic EMR system and experience is required
- Responsibilities include caring for Med/Surg Tele patients and performing IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Must complete fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are not eligible for travel positions
- Orientation and credentialing procedures will be communicated after contract acceptance
- Previous travel experience is preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
- Experience with Epic EMR system required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
- At least 2 professional references required, with 1 from a manager, director, or charge RN
- Former employees eligible after a 6-month separation
