RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide safe, quality patient care in the intraoperative area
• Assess patient status during pre-op interview and on a continuing basis
• Utilize nursing process and nursing diagnosis to provide therapeutic quality care
• Communicate patient condition information to surgeons, anesthesia, management, and other staff
• Safely carry out physician's orders and document all activities
• Assist anesthesia staff as needed
• Protect sedated and anesthetized patients by identifying safety hazards
• Maintain expertise in safety principles, asepsis, sterile technique, and universal precautions
• Assess, anticipate, and implement appropriate care throughout the surgical process
• Participate in orientation and training of new employees
• Work in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
• Current unencumbered State of Oregon RN license required
• Current CPR certification required, ACLS or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Minimum 1 year OR experience required, multispecialty preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Current BLS certification or ability to complete within 90 days required
• PALS certification preferred
• Ability to manage emergency situations in a calm and confident manner
• Demonstrated flexibility and leadership with unscheduled procedure changes
