Job Opportunity: Night Shift Medical Surgical RN

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment with a focus on general medical and surgical needs. The RN will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Key Details

• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Location: City, State
• Patient Ratio: 1:6-8 (1:8 with LPN support)
• License: Compact or PA License required in hand
• Experience: 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred
• Charting System: Experience with Epic preferred
• Patient Demographics: Primarily adults and geriatrics

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with general medical and surgical diagnoses, including GI issues.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting dysrhythmias, managing telemetry, and responding quickly to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Collaborate with LPNs and other healthcare team members to deliver effective patient care.
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as necessary in critical situations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in alignment with departmental and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Current PA or Compact RN License in hand.
• At least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Strong ability to manage patients in a telemetry setting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork.
