Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - 12 Hour Shifts

Shift Details

12-hour shifts from 0645 to 1915, including every other weekend.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing the overall nursing practice of the unit during the assigned shift. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the RN reports to the Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Nursing House Supervisor. The nurse will provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate nursing care effectiveness.

Essential Functions

  • Collecting Patient Health Data:
    • Prioritize data collection based on patient condition.
    • Utilize appropriate assessment techniques.
    • Involve patients and families in data collection.
    • Document relevant data in a retrievable form.
  • Analyzing Assessment Data:
    • Derive diagnoses from assessment data.
    • Validate findings with patients and healthcare providers.
    • Document in a manner that contributes to care planning.
  • Identifying Expected Outcomes:
    • Formulate measurable goals based on diagnoses.
    • Ensure goals are realistic and attainable.
    • Document expected outcomes clearly.
  • Developing a Plan of Care:
    • Create individualized care plans based on patient needs.
    • Include educational interventions for patients and families.
    • Document care plans thoroughly for continuity.
  • Implementing Interventions:
    • Carry out interventions in alignment with the care plan.
    • Document interventions accurately.
  • Evaluating Patient's Progress:
    • Use systematic processes for evaluation.
