Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Shift: Day | 4x10-Hour Shifts (08:30 AM – 09:00 PM) Location: Charleston, SC Job Description: Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts: 08:30 AM – 09:00 PM On-Call: Required — 2 on-call shifts per month (weekends only, 7A–7P or 7P–7A) Weekends: Up to 1 working weekend shift every 4 weeks Holidays: Traveler must be available for at least one major holiday block: Christmas: Dec. 24–26 New Year’s: Dec. 31–Jan. 1 Floating: May float within scope to meet facility or unit needs, including sister units/facilities Required Qualifications: License: Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State license Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) Radiation Badge: Required (will be provided by agency) Experience: Minimum 2 years OR experience strongly preferred Scrub experience preferred Level I Trauma Center experience strongly preferred First-Time Travelers: Accepted Facility Details: Type: Level I Academic Trauma Center | Magnet Designation | Teaching Hospital Bed Count: 820 staffed beds Main OR Overview: 21 operating suites Specialties: Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, Robotics Staff: 75 RNs and 25 Certified Surgical Technologists Nurses trained to scrub and circulate Cutting-edge technology in a nurse-driven unit Other Details: EMR System: EPIC Scrub Color: Provided by facility Parking: Must obtain a permit from the Parking Management Office (91 Presidents Street) $20 registration fee for a hang tag (covers garage parking only; additional fees may apply if parking elsewhere) Block Scheduling: May be requested but requires manager approval Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Local Radius: 60 miles — locals may be accepted case-by-case at a reduced rate RTO (Requested Time Off): Must be submitted with application; approval based on facility needs ⚠️ Note on Hurricane Season: Travelers should be aware that June–November is hurricane season.
