Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification to provide care across multiple settings in a post-acute environment.
Responsibilities
- Work in outpatient, inpatient swing bed, assisted living, and long-term care/skilled nursing settings
- Treat 6-8 patients per day, depending on department caseload
- Expected to float between all assigned areas and may see patients in each area in one day
- Common diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic (total joints, ORIF), neurologic (stroke, Parkinson's, MS), sports medicine, and complex medical cases
- Team includes 3 PTs, 1 PTA, 1 COTA, 1 OT, and 1 SLP
- Uses EPIC for documentation
- Assigned 5 shifts per week, each 8 hours, with flexible start times between 0700-0900
- Occasional weekend shifts may be required
- Department orientation typically provided during the first week, with full patient load expected by week two
- Expected productivity is 75%
- Any color scrubs or business casual attire are acceptable
- No holiday coverage required
- Team support includes a DOR, PTs, OT, SLP, PTA, and COTA
Requirements
- Current SD PT license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of PT experience beyond clinical rotations
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience in LTC/skilled nursing preferred
- Experience with long-term recovery therapy is preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR is beneficial
- Must live at least 30 miles from the facility to be eligible
