Travel ICU RN – Mixed ICU (MICU/SICU/CICU/TICU) Address: Rapid City, SD Shift: [Not specified – please confirm with recruiter] Contract Length: 13 weeks Weekly Hours: 48 hours/week – required, non-negotiable Start Dates: [Rolling, with orientation weekly] Magnet Designated | Teaching Hospital | Level II Trauma Center | 417 Beds ? Unit Information Unit Type: Mixed ICU – includes Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Trauma ICUs Unit Beds: 39 Trauma Level: II NICU Level: III Pediatric Trauma: Level II ? Patient Population High-acuity, critically ill patients: ARDS, COVID-19, MI, CVA/TIA Post-cardiac cath, post-surgical, neuro Multi-system trauma Cardiac experience preferred: CABG, TAVR (24–48 hrs post-op) No fresh open hearts unless previously experienced and cleared RNs may float to ED or Med/Surg/Tele if overstaffed ✅ Experience Requirements Minimum: 2 years ICU experience excluding travel 1.5 years ICU + other strong RN background: Submit for approval Not accepting first-time travelers Traveler must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility Former perm staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler ? Skills & Clinical Requirements Required Certifications (must be active): BLS ACLS NIHSS TNCC (Required) – must be completed before arrival Required Skills: Strong assessment & critical thinking in high-acuity ICU Vent management, proning, sedation, vasopressors, paralytics Telemetry & hemodynamic monitoring Epic EMR experience required Preferred Skills: Impella, IABP, CRRT experience ? Unit Support Charge RNs: 2 CRNs covering all ICUs CNA/Mobility Aide: 1–2 per unit RT: 24/7 Phlebotomy: Yes (peripheral only) Midlines: Placed by ICU CRNs MD Coverage: 3 Intensivists on days 2 Intensivists + 1 APP at night ? Charting & Equipment EMR: Epic Pumps: Currently Alaris, switching to Baxter by October Omnicell for med dispensing
