Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Master’s degree, 1 year of specialty experience, and an active license for a day shift hospital rehab assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a hospital rehab administration department
  • Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Primary patient population includes individuals with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders
  • Utilizes Epic as the EMR system
  • Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders
  • Consult, educate, and train patients and caregivers
  • Provide evidence-based clinical services with appropriate care planning
  • Supervise, mentor, and educate colleagues, new employees, and students as needed
  • Participate in patient care conferences and regular staff meetings

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active state Speech-Language Pathologist license required if applicable
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA, valid through the assignment
  • At least 1 year of experience in the specialty required
  • Experience with Epic charting preferred
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting, manual dexterity, standing, walking, and other physical tasks
