Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 15-week floating assignment primarily caring for PCU and ICU patients, with Epic EMR experience required.
Responsibilities
- Work primarily in ICU and PCU settings, with frequent floating to ED overflow
- Majority of shifts spent with PCU-level patients, occasional ICU patients
- Patient caseload includes respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op patients, CVA, ETOH, and overdose
- No craniotomies, major traumas, or major cardiothoracic cases
- 16 ICU beds in the unit
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required), Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend rotation
- Position may require floating to other campuses (Auburn or Covington) as needed
- May serve as lead RN in ED holding areas and PCU overflow settings
- Scrubs of any color allowed except camouflage, with navy blue preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted for consideration
- Weekend shifts are required on an every-other-weekend rotation
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring, ventilator/trach/BiPAP management, invasive line management, ostomy/drain/chest tube care, IV medication titration
- Epic EMR experience required
