Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a WA or compact license, with at least two years of L&D and Postpartum experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a busy Level III Labor & Delivery unit within a Level II Trauma Center
- Assignment includes caring for a high-volume obstetric population (400+ births in summer)
- Day shifts available with 3 or 4x12 hour scheduling
- Frequent weekend shifts required, typically every other weekend but may be more frequent
- No call required for this assignment
- Floating between Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and like units as needed
- Uses Epic EMR and Epic experience is required
- Three days of orientation provided during the first week
- Travelers will be relied upon to support less experienced core staff
- Must be able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment
- Must commit to working three of the five main winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Scrub color is flexible, except reddish orange is not permitted
- First-time travelers are eligible for this position
- Former perm staff must wait three months before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be included at the time of application; no holiday RTO allowed
- Pre-start online modules required, averaging 16 hours
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery and postpartum experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references covering one year of employment in a comparable setting within the last three years required
- No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from facility
- Pending RN license accepted for consideration
