Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and a current WA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital
• Handles labor, preterm labor, postpartum, OB-GYN, pre-op, post-op, and low-risk antepartum cases
• Unit consists of 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
• Patient assignments range from 1:1 to 1:3 ratio
• Required to attend all deliveries, including high-risk cases and GYN surgeries
• Specialized procedures include blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epidural and syringe pumps, wound vac use, and administration of medications such as heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
• Couplet care and transition nursery work included
• Expected to float to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:30)
• Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience is required
• Expected to circulate and scrub during deliveries, including OB-GYN surgical cases
• May be required to float to other units and facilities within the state per hospital needs
• All requested time off (RTO) must be discussed before submission; additional requests post-submission may be denied
• Former perm staff at Swedish facilities must have a minimum 3-month separation before applying as travelers
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will need to provide proof of local address and may be subject to local opportunity rules
• Modules must be completed before start and annually, and are self-reported
• Reliable transportation required; travel pairs must have separate vehicles
• Scrub color or dress code not specified in this posting

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years recent L&D experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior hospital Labor & Delivery experience required
• Position does not accept first-time travelers
• Must provide at least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
