Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer with at least 3 years of experience and ARDMS RDCS or CCI certification for adult transthoracic echo in a major academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a large academic teaching center with Magnet designation
• Focus on adult transthoracic echo for cardiology and oncology patients with heart failure, structural heart disease, and cancer requiring EF and strain assessments
• Daily caseload is 5-6 scans per technologist
• 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• No weekend or on-call requirements for this assignment
• No floating required within the facility
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred but not required
• Scrubs can be any color; scrubs provided for OR personnel
• Role focuses on straightforward cardiology and cancer care patients; experience with complex congenital and heart failure populations is a plus
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Prior employees must have a separation of at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• Completion of 2-3 hours of online Allied health modules pre-start; EPIC module completed during orientation
• Holiday schedule requires working Christmas week, with flexibility for time off at Thanksgiving or after New Year's
• No local candidate restrictions; locals accepted at same rate
• No changes to requested time off (RTO) after contract signing and no RTO permitted during orientation week
• Parking is available at a daily cost

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
• ARDMS RDCS certification highly preferred; CCI accepted
• Experience in large academic, teaching, or trauma center preferred
• Ability to perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms, including EF and strain assessments
• COVID vaccination and booster required without exception
• Active WA state license required; pending license not accepted (license required if applicable)
• Must provide two references, with at least one supervisory reference preferred
