American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Labor & Delivery position in Washington, requiring at least 3 years of high-risk experience and strong newborn care skills.

• Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery hospital unit
• Unit averages 15 patients daily and 500-600 deliveries per month
• 31 rooms and 4 operating rooms are available in the unit
• Patient population includes midwifery, private OB patients, and adult recovery services
• Assignment includes night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am)
• Rotating schedule posted every 6 weeks; requires work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Floating required to Postpartum and Antepartum units, as well as to sister facilities with Mother/Baby care
• Uses Epic EMR; experience with Epic required
• Must be able to circulate and provide newborn care including eyes, thighs, assessment, and newborn medications
• Responsibilities include circulating in the OR, newborn care, assessment, and administering newborn medications
• Patient care may involve high-risk pregnancies, substance recovery support, and community-based clients
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines for patient safety
• Must be able to safely administer medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• All travelers must be willing to float between assigned units and facilities as needed
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as per unit needs
• Minimal to no requested time off will be approved; specific requests must be discussed prior to assignment
• Professional attire with adherence to the unit’s dress code is expected

• Active WA or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 3-5 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in high-risk, fast-paced environments required
• Must have newborn care skills including NB care, eyes, thighs, assessment, and administration of Vit K
• Must have experience circulating in the OR
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Must provide at least two recent supervisory references
• Proof of current certifications and Nursys verification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months and live over 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
