Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a rotating night shift schedule. As a critical member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality care for adults battling cancer, as well as patients undergoing medical and surgical interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care to a 29-bed unit with medical, surgical, and oncology patients.
• Float to other departments as needed while maintaining scope of practice.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and administer blood products.
• Assist with chemotherapy administration, central line draws, and care of implanted ports.
• Educate patients and families on oncological processes and palliative care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience with oncology preferred, but not required for strong candidates.
• Telemetry experience and competent in central line draws and blood administration.

Patient Ratios:

• Days: 4-5 patients per nurse
• Nights: 5-6 patients per nurse

Certifications Required:

• Current BLS certification.
• ONC certification preferred.
• Chemo administration skills are preferred.

Unit and Facility Details:

• Type: Level IV Trauma Center, Major teaching hospital.
• Total Staffed Beds: 838.
• Charting System: Cerner.
• Free parking for travelers.

• References from at least two managers or charge nurses within the past two years.

Additional Information:
