Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a WI or compact RN license and strong critical care skills.
Responsibilities
- Critical Care Unit in a hospital setting with a 16-bed ICU
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 2:1, with occasional 1:1 for unstable or CRRT patients, and 3:1 if caring for step-down overflow
- Patient population involves ventilator management, multiple drips, and assisting with procedures like bedside line placements, bronchs, and chest tubes
- Utilizes Epic for charting, Pyxis medication system, GE Monitors, Stryker ICU beds, Caminos, and Maquet Booms
- Required to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
- No on-call requirement
- May float to MSICU, CICU, step-down units (CTU, IMC), Med-Surg units, Palliative, Oncology, Post-Surgical, Inpatient Rehab, Clinical Decision Unit, and nearby facilities within 30 to 40 miles
- Will never be required to work alone
- Scrubs of any color are permitted with close-toed nonslip shoes
- Includes general nursing orientation and 2 orientation shifts in the unit
- Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments throughout the facility and may float to other regional facilities
- Every other holiday coverage is required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Preferred certifications include CCRN and TNCC, but not required
